Koeman Optimistic Sigurdsson Move to Everton

Everton manager, Ronald Koeman, gives an indication of his team soon getting Swansea City midfielder, Gylfi Sigurdsson.

The Icelandic international has been linked with a move to Goodison Park this summer. Everton tried to realize the transfer with a bid of 40 million pounds (£ 695,837 billion) but was rejected by Swansea, who wanted 50 million pounds (about Rp 869.79 billion).

Swansea manager, Paul Clement, recently said that nothing has changed about the transfer of Sigurdsson. But after the friendly match Everton vs Sevilla ended 2-2, Sunday (06/08/2017), Koeman expressed his optimism that the 27-year player will move.

“Everyone knows we’re looking for three more players (left midfielder, defender, full-back left), a player who can play in two positions, the winger and the striker. That’s the picture,” Koeman told Sky Sports News.

“We are close to Sigurdsson, but we have to wait because the deal has not happened yet.”

Not just Everton who is interested in this former Tottenham Hotspur player. Premier League champions 2015-2016 season, Leicester City, also interested and has offered the same as Everton (40 million pounds), but also rejected Swansea.

Sigurdsson moved to Swansea in the summer of 2014. Over with the club, he scored 37 goals and 30 assists in 131 competitive matches. Last season, Sigurdsson contributed nine goals and 13 assists in 38 Premier League matches.
